Final

Image
By: Abby Clark 12/11/24 This is my collage of my last week during finals. Each of these pictures indicate a time in my life where I can capture the moments. I watch multiple videos of daily routines and collages where it inspires me to do the same. Within my collage, I wanted to prove that my life can be an art and that my photos and journalism can inspire others. I took picture of my workouts throughout the week, some food that I made in the kitchen at work, and some great picture of myself, my boyfriend and random people enjoying their night in Boston on Friday December 8th, 2023. I absolutely love taking photos and videos of my life so that one I can look back to this week and see the beautiful times that I had.

Going  Home: Ed Clark What I see in the photo is US Marine who is morning a lost. As you can see in the back there are other people crying as well or sad. This makes me believe that they are at a funeral and celebrating the life of a lost member. As someone who has someone in the military, this makes me sad. In Professor Nordell’s video in part 1 , he expressed that your view in images can change over time while gaining new experiences. In my life I have only lost 2 people and I was pretty young to know what mourning is. With that being said, I don’t have much experience in relation to this picture but it doesn’t make me sad and pray that all my loved ones are safe. It makes me want to hug all my loved ones.       This photo is a great, emotional image that tells a story just by looking at it. You can clearly tell who the main character is in this moment. They saw that this man crying while playing a beautiful song in dedication to a fellow member. They ...

Ethical Beliefs

Image
There are many controversies in the field of photojournalism when it comes down to the ethic behind a photo and its story. According to Yatim (2017)    photographers use difficult events and harsh stories to capture fame, they only do this to benefit themselves. Yatim (2017) gave the example of Kevin carter’s photograph in which it shows a starving young girl who is being watched by a vulture when crawling to get her food from a food shelter near by. The piece that gets the public talking is, Carter waited 20 minute before capturing this incidence, they wanted to know why he didn’t help the young girl like a normal citizen rather than waiting to take the picture for benefits of himself while watching her being threatened. This photo was taking for his profession, in which the crowed did not like that he received a winning price for this photo, which led him to develop depression. He later committed suicide in 1994 due to long going severe depression.  By: Kevin Ca...

Also getting awarded in 2015, Art for Peace award and 2014 Infinity award along with many more.  She was born in Miami Florida back in 1973 where she grew up and went to college at University of Florida ( Wikipedia ). To the best of my research, I have only found great success from Stephanie Sinclair.  Gender disparities are sadly still effecting people to this day in many ways. When it comes to the work force, women who are in Masculine jobs face challenges everyday. Women who are in the S.T.E.M field see gender disparities more especially those who work on computers or majority male dominate field ( Pew Research Center) . Unfortunately I ...
